Portrait Workshop – 28th September at Crosscare
Portrait Workshop – 28th September at Crosscare (Full Day)
Join us for a full-day, hands-on portrait photography workshop at Crosscare on Saturday, 28th September. This workshop will provide an in-depth experience in working with studio lighting and capturing portraits in controlled conditions.
In the morning session, we will focus on the technical aspects of studio setups, including exposure using a flash meter, colour balance with a grey card, and achieving both soft and hard lighting through practical projects.
In the afternoon, we will apply the morning's lessons with a series of portrait projects. A group discussion will follow, where we will review and evaluate the merits of each image.
Camera Requirements:
Your camera must have manual settings and be able to connect with a sync lead.
Features like remote firing and tethering to a laptop are also highly useful for studio portraiture.
A hot shoe is a mounting point on the top of a camera to attach a flash unit and other compatible accessories. It takes the form of an angled metal bracket surrounding a metal contact point which completes an electrical connection between camera and accessory for standard, brand-independent flash synchronization.
